Bethel Historical
Society

Founded in the 1950’s The Bethel Historical Society is an independent, non-profit organization made up of a group of people dedicated to preserving Bethel’s history through acquisitions and conservation of property, artifacts and stories. The Society is dedicated to the education of the people of Bethel and surrounding communities. and Monthly programs are presented on varied historical subjects. Also offered are programs geared toward the education of children such as monthly historical craft classes, Walking Tours of Bethel and a Child’s Christmas Victorian Tea.

WHAT WE DO AS A SOCIETY AND FOR THE TOWN OF BETHEL

As a nonprofit group, the Bethel Historical Society receives no local, state or federal government support. We rely on financial support from individuals, fundraisers such as our Antique Appraisal Days, donations, bequests and publication sales to generate the income needed to fund our activities and provide for the upkeep of the 1842 Second Meeting House.
